Need a hand? Here’s what people usually ask, and how to reach us if you need more.

What is SteadyCue?
SteadyCue is a teleprompter app for your phone or tablet. You write a script, open it on the device you're reading from, and it scrolls while you talk to camera.
Do I need the app to use SteadyCue, or does it work in a browser?
You need the app. SteadyCue is a native app for Android and iOS, and that's where the prompting happens. There's a web companion at app.steadycue.com for writing scripts and starting the prompter remotely, but it doesn't replace the app.
What's the difference between the free and paid plans?
Free gives you manual scroll and full display customisation. Paid adds LiveScroll, our voice tracking, along with the web companion remote-start workflow. Paid is a subscription. We don't sell a lifetime licence.
How does voice tracking work?
LiveScroll listens while you read and keeps the script moving at your pace. Slow down and it slows down. Stop to redo a line and it waits for you. It's the smoothest voice tracking we've used.
Can I use SteadyCue on my phone as well as a tablet?
Yes. Tablets give you the most screen room so that's what we optimise for, but phones are fully supported and plenty of people work that way.
How do I write a script and get it onto my prompter device?
Write it on your laptop or phone at app.steadycue.com. Open SteadyCue on the tablet or phone you're reading from and the script is already sitting there in prompter mode. No pairing, no lag.
I'm having trouble with voice tracking not keeping up — what can I do?
Usually the mic is picking up too much of the room. Get somewhere quieter if you can, and keep the device close enough to hear you properly. Reading at a steady volume helps. If it's still drifting, email us and say what device you're on.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Your subscription is managed through whichever app store you bought it from. On iOS that's your Apple account settings, on Android it's Google Play. Cancel there and you keep access until the current billing period runs out.
I found a bug — how do I report it?
Email hi@steadycue.com and tell us what device you're on and what you were doing when it broke. A screenshot helps if you have one.
